When can you say you are at your best?
Is it when your body is in perfect shape, and your skin is glowing more than ever?
Or is it when your spirit and soul are at peace and confident to face whatever life throws you?
God made humans with three parts - the body, soul, and spirit.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Thessalonians 5:23 New King James Version
The body is the visible part of a human being. It is composed of the cells, tissues, and organs. The body is the part of us that connects to the material things in this world.
The soul is who we are. It is the invisible part of a human being that thinks, feels, and makes choices. The soul is the link between the body and the spirit.
The spirit is our inner core. Like the soul, the spirit is invisible. It is through our spirit that we experience the supernatural realm. We connect with God through our spirit.
If one of your three components is weak, you can’t function well; it will be difficult for you to be at your best
How can you move around and execute your life goals if your body is sick?
How can you make wise decisions and confidently face life if your soul is in trouble?
How can you live a purposeful life if your spirit is empty?
Pursuing the “best you” is pursuing the “whole you!” The “whole you” is having a healthy body, soul, and spirit.
A healthy body means your entire biological system functions properly, and you can do your daily routine without getting winded up or ill. A good indicator of a healthy body is having glowing skin. The skin is like a barometer of what’s going on in your internal organs. When the insides are healthy, the skin reflects it.
You can take care of your body by having a healthy diet and enough rest, exercising regularly, drinking enough water, taking the necessary vitamins and minerals, and using products free from harmful chemicals.
Your soul and spirit are healthy when you're filled with joy, love, peace, and contentment; and living with purpose. When you have these, you can face life confidently, no matter the situation!
Like your body, you have to feed your soul and spirit. The Word of God is the best food you can give your soul and spirit. The Word of God will make your soul and spirit healthy and alive. God is the source of life. When you draw closer to God, you will live!
Of course, bringing out the “best you” takes work and discipline. It is something you have to pursue.
The process is not easy, but it is worth it!
Let's work together to bring out our best selves!
